Glebe Creek Forest Preserve: A Guide

This booklet is specifically written for the residents of The Pointe who have the right to wander the 100 acres of wooded headland bordered by waters and marshes of Glebe Creek, one of many waterways that feed the South River, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The booklet offers a pattern for Land Trusts and government officials to guide citizens in an understanding and enjoyment home forests offer other living beings as well as humans.

Living with Water (CDRom)

This cd-based Microsoft Powerpoint presentation presents a graphic overview of graphic overview of severe flooding, erosion, sedimentation, pollution we have each caused by shedding the rain into stormsewers and huge pipes instead of ‘replicating the natural hydrological cycle’ in which the rain feeds trees, plants, ground water, and becomes drinking water for people.

This Place Called Home: Tools for Sustainable Communites (CDRom)

The stories, interviews, and information in this CD express a strong undercurrent of change throughout the continent. It is led by everyday citizens, government officials, educators, and businesses whose commitment and discoveries inspire the imagination and guide us toward reinhabiting the land in ways that are good for people and the planet.

Sacred Places Planning (Video and Guide)

This video with accompanying guide can be used to train citizens and planners in Community-based Participatory Planning. Initiated by Randoph Hester in Manteo, N.C., Hester is now a professor at U.C. Berkeley and principal in a consulting firm, Community Development by Design. ASC was funded by the EPA Chesapeake Bay Program and NOAA to provide this training in PA, VA, and MD communities with spectacular results. The mutual identification of places central to community life creates a bond between people of widely divergent views and results in a consensus that guides preservation and future growth.
